Born 20 years later and there would not have been a fighter in the game that would have laid a glove on him. Today he would have been able to add the heavyweight crown to every other title down to welterweight. Yet even though The Hitman fought during an era that was also blessed with Leonard, Hagler and Duran, he still emerged a legend. Even though he came out second best in many of his career defining fights, his performances against Leonard and Hagler mean that every fight fan owes him a massive debt of gratitude. And not to forget that bone fide world titles at 5 weights is not something to be sniffed at.
