Let's face it, the 80s didn't give us too much musically. I know there is a ridiculous trend for revelling in garbage 80s pop, but like people that try to sell the 70s as all being about Abba and the Bay City Rollers, it is a sham that shamefully covers over the very few nuggets of genius for the sake of a couple of synths and hackneyed rhyming. But right at the end of the decade that gave us 5Star and A-Ha, there was an album released of such staggering brilliance, that I am hard pushed to think of anything better released since.
