Look, I’m just a gnarly old rocker. I list albums by the Stooges, Ramones, Sex Pistols and the Clash amongst my favourites. I’ve seen more punk gigs than you could spit at, yet it really pisses me off when I hear old punks bitching about Green Day. Billie Joe Armstrong can’t help his age or the fact that the music industry is a different place than it was in 1976. Billie Joe and Green Day also shouldn’t be criticised for writing better songs than most other punks. So lay off. Green Day are every bit as punk as their forefathers.
