Who'd have thought that Black Sabbath, the original heavy metal pioneers would have written one of the definitive anti-war songs? Today, so many exponents of the genre that Black Sabbath forged take sinister delight in mayhem & destruction as if war is the glorious answer, but when when Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward and Ozzy Osbourne got together in The Beat Club to write War Pigs, their intention was to rail against the Vietnam War. Anyway, wherever you stand on the issue, one thing is for sure, Black Sabbath's War Pigs is a damn fine track - just as this is a damn fine Black Sabbath T-shirt
